NBC Connecticut Investigates Features Story on Litchfield Sexual Abuse Case

May, 2026

Former student athletes in Litchfield are coming forward about sexual abuse that allegedly happened years ago. NBC Connecticut Investigates reports multiple men accusing a middle school coach of assaulting them inappropriately back in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Victims describe fondling during team trips and practices.

Authorities did investigate these accusations early on, but no charges were ever brought. Since then, other victims have come forward publicly. Cases like these are unfortunately common, which is why it’s important to educate people on how these situations are handled and how they affect victims. Attorney Paul Slager is representing several of the men who were sexually abused while attending Litchfield Public Schools. Mr. Slager is nationally known for fighting for those who have suffered serious personal harm and is dedicated to serving others.

We see stories like this all the time of people who were abused as children and did not speak up for years. It can be difficult to confront someone in a position of power, especially when you’re young. However, reporting the abuse years later can be a way to hold your abuser accountable—and open up legal possibilities.
