May, 2026

Slager Madry LLC (slagermadry.com) – a leading Connecticut firm handling catastrophic cases for plaintiffs across the State – is pleased to welcome another highly experienced trial lawyer to the firm. Jillian Orticelli, a senior litigator in the civil division of Connecticut Assistant United States Attorney’s office, has agreed to join Slager Madry on May 11, 2026.

About Jillian Orticelli

Ms. Orticelli has been an Assistant United States Attorney since 2020. She has deep experience handling serious cases in state and federal trial courts, where her practice has focused on catastrophic civil cases. “Everyone we know who has worked on cases with Jill knows she’s a formidable and experienced trial lawyer,” Paul Slager explained, “but what makes her a unique fit for Slager Madry is that Jill’s core values are rooted in compassion for those who have suffered terrible injuries and loss. This combination of special litigation skills, combined with her genuine compassion, makes her the perfect fit for our firm.”

Ms. Orticelli has been a valuable member of the Connecticut United States Attorney’s Office since 2020. Among other recognitions, she was awarded the Civil Division Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes exceptional service and significant contributions to the agency’s mission. She also is trained in trauma-informed techniques and previously served as an independent investigator in sexual abuse and misconduct investigations, making her an invaluable asset in the array of sexual abuse cases Slager Madry handles throughout the State.

Slager added, “Jill has resisted many opportunities to join other law firms in the private sector. We are so fortunate she was willing to leave a position in the United States Attorney’s office that she truly loved to join Slager Madry in our commitment to helping people who need it the most. Bringing Jill on as part of our team is a continuation of our pledge to our referring lawyers and the public that we are committed to providing individuals the absolute best possible service and representation.”

“It a privilege to join Slager Madry in the firm’s pursuit of justice for Connecticut families — I see this as a natural progression from my previous role as an AUSA” said Orticelli. “Slager Madry’s track record of holding institutions and healthcare providers accountable is what attracted me to the firm; its unparalleled commitment to clients and pursuit of systemic change is what convinced me to join Paul, Joaquin, and the entire Slager Madry team. I look forward to doing great things together!”

About Slager Madry

Slager Madry is one of Connecticut’s leading personal injury firms. The firm handles serious cases in courts throughout Connecticut. Its practice focuses on serving individuals and families experiencing severe injuries, medical malpractice, sexual abuse and wrongful death throughout the state. Slager Madry opened in October 2024 after partners Paul Slager, Joaquin Madry, and Nicole Coates left another Stamford firm to create a client-centered practice focusing on only catastrophic cases for individuals. Since opening in October 2024, the firm has grown quickly, adding experienced partners Gretchen Randall (former partner of New Haven’s Neubert Pepe and Monteith), Jeff Wisner (former partner of Bridgeport’s Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder), Stewart Casper (founder of Stamford’s Casper DeToleo), and now, Jillian Orticelli.

With the addition of Attorney Orticelli, Slager Madry now has seven experienced trial lawyers. This development further enhances the firm’s standing as a major force in Connecticut for advocacy, justice, and support for seriously injured people across the state.
